A balanced approach to nutrition for appropriate environmental and seasonal conditions.
An excess of Nitrogen during the year, especially in autumn, will encourage Fusarium Patch. An excess of Phosphate will encourage Poa Annua which is extremely susceptible to Fusarium Patch. A deficiency of Potassium predisposes turf to attack by Fusarium Patch.
The correct input of the major nutrients will therefore do much to lessen the severity of Fusarium Patch disease.
This stresses the need for regular soil analysis in order to check the rootzone nutrient content.
